Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty

Treatment description

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty (commonly known as Nose Fillers) consists of a series of small injections of hyaluronic acid dermal filler which will are applied to the soft tissue in the nose to shape, straighten and contour.

This procedure is ideal for people who are looking to smooth out bumps in their nose or make it look less angular but who aren’t ready for a permanent solution, or are worried about the risks and recovery time involved in a traditional rhinoplasty.

Dermal filler is carefully injected underneath your skin in the areas where you wish to create smoother lines or volume. The filler settles into where it’s injected in your deeper skin layers and holds its shape. Injected above and below the ‘bump’ on the nose, ‘hooked’ noses, look completely straight.

Applied around the tip of the nose, it looks both thinner and more refined. The tip of the nose can be further lifted by injecting Botox into the depressor nasalis, the muscle which continuously pulls the nose down.

I can’t recommend Aesthetics by Stephanie enough. Extensive information was given prior to the treatment and I was then given the opportunity to ask any questions. It was a friendly, professional and pain free experience. I will definitely book up again in the near future!

Frequently Asked Questions

The fillers which are usually used in this procedure, are biocompatible and biodegradable products which means that it is not harmful to the body and is broken down and removed from the body naturally. These hyaluronic acid nose fillers come in the form of a sterile gel produced in the laboratory.

A non-surgical rhinoplasty can be an ideal solution if you are unhappy with the shape of your nose and do not want to undergo invasive surgery. A new look can be created with Dermal Fillers by subtly and effectively changing the shape of the nose by injecting filler into the nose, improving the overall appearance.

If you have a bump on the bridge of the nose, filler is injected above and below the bump to make the nose look straighter and the bump less noticeable.

A common issue is a ‘hooked nose.’ This can be treated by injecting filler into the tip of the nose, giving you a lifted appearance.

Most patients find the treatment to be very comfortable and trouble-free. Modern fillers contain local anaesthetic and this coupled with a light-handed technique, makes the procedure quick and fairly painless..

For most people, the only side effect of a non-surgical rhinoplasty they’ll see is a little redness and sensitivity in the area of the injection in the day or two after the procedure.

Other possible side effects include:

  • Bruising at the site of the injection
  • Swelling
  • Filler migration, meaning the injectable ingredient migrates to other areas of your nose or the area under your eyes, creating a “wavy” or “overfilled” look
  • Nausea

The nose is a sensitive area. It’s filled with blood vessels and close to your eyes. That’s why non-surgical rhinoplasty is somewhat more complicated than other kinds of injectable filler procedures. With all cosmetic filler treatments other complication may include; bleeding from the injection site, damage to the skin that results in a wound and possible scarring, Infection at the injection site and lumps.

A non-surgical rhinoplasty typically takes about 30 minutes. It’s often referred to as the “lunchtime nose job” because of its quick procedure time.

As soon as the Dermal fillers are injected and your aesthetic practitioner has moulded them to just the right shape, you’ll see a difference. You could catch a glimpse of your new profile right there in the clinic, as soon as the procedure is done!

However, keep in mind, your nose might be a little swollen initially. So, you’ll get the most accurate idea of your new look after about one to two weeks, once any swelling has had a chance to calm down.

There are many different types and brands of filler available today, however, the dermal fillers made of hyaluronic acid, a substance that naturally occurs in the body and keeps the skin hydrated and plump, are by far the most popular in non surgical nose jobs.

The results of non-surgical rhinoplasty typically last between 12 to 18 months, depending on the type of dermal fillers used.

A nose filler treatment can improve the appearance of a mildly crooked nose. However, for more significant irregularities, surgical intervention might be needed.

Post-procedure skincare is an important aspect to consider after non-surgical nose treatments. You should continue with your usual skincare routine with a few modifications. Directly after the treatment, it’s best to avoid any rigorous skincare routines or products that might irritate the treated area, particularly products containing retinoids or acids. It’s also crucial to not apply too much pressure on the treated area while washing or moisturising.

Since it’s not a heavy-duty procedure, you should be fine to drive home.

It’s generally recommended to avoid strenuous physical activities, including going to the gym, for 24 to 48 hours following a non-surgical rhinoplasty. This helps to minimise swelling and potential movement of the filler.

The amount of filler needed for a non-surgical nose job very much depends on the specific goals of the procedure. Even small amounts of filler can lead to noticeable changes in the nose’s shape and contour. However, the exact amount needed can vary based on factors like the individual’s nose size and shape, the specific corrections needed, and the type of filler being used.

The treatment involves injecting fillers into the nose to alter the nose’s shape and contour, without touching the internal nasal structures that are crucial for breathing. If you already have a pre-existing breathing issue related to the structure of your nose, a non surgical rhinoplasty will not improve this. It’s solely a cosmetic procedure and isn’t designed to fix functional issues like breathing problems.
