All About Nurse Carrie
Hi everyone, I’m super excited to be delivering more services over 2024 and beyond. What better way to help you find out what makes me tick than to get Stuart to interview me!
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Tall, passionate and caring
How do you start your day?
To begin my day, I follow a dedicated skincare routine to ensure my skin remains healthy and revitalised. After that, I take a moment to enjoy a cup of tea, which helps me to relax and focus, setting a positive tone for the day ahead.
Where would you like to travel?
I’d love to go to Iceland with its stunning natural beauty, including breathtaking landscapes like geysers, hot springs, and glaciers. Exploring such a unique and tranquil destination would be a truly awesome experience.
Why do you love working in Aesthetics?
I am deeply passionate about working in aesthetics because of its dynamic and ever-evolving nature. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of a field that is constantly advancing, bringing new treatments and techniques to the fore.
The prospect of offering an expanded range of treatments excites me, as it means I can contribute even more to helping people feel confident and good about themselves. This aspect of my work is genuinely fulfilling.
What’s been a recent achievement?
A recent accomplishment I’m particularly proud of is achieving a 91% score in my Managing Complex Needs Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) at university. This high mark reflects my dedication and understanding in dealing with complex patient needs, which is crucial in my field. It’s a significant milestone that showcases both my academic and practical proficiency.
Do you have a top beauty tip?
My top beauty tip is twofold: firstly, always make sure to remove your makeup before going to sleep, as it’s crucial for maintaining healthy skin by preventing clogged pores and breakouts. Secondly, apply SPF daily, regardless of the weather.
If you could only use one product for the rest of your life what would it be?
If I had to choose just one product to use for the rest of my life, it would undoubtedly be SPF. Sunscreen is essential for protecting the skin from the harmful effects of UV rays, such as premature aging and the risk of skin cancer. It’s a versatile product that benefits the skin in all seasons and environments, making it an indispensable part of daily skincare.
Favourite treatments to perform?
The treatment I’m most excited about offering in the future involves expanding my knowledge and expertise in skincare products to provide more bespoke skincare regimes. Tailoring skincare routines to individual needs is a key aspect of effective skin health management. Additionally, I’m equally enthusiastic about the prospect of working with injectables.
Favourite treatment to receive?
My favourite treatment to receive is Botox, without a doubt. Balancing life as a mum and a student can be quite demanding, and it often feels like it has accelerated the aging process! Botox has been a real boost both for my confidence and overall well-being. It’s a little treat that makes a big difference in how I feel.
Trend you would like to see disappear forever?
A trend I’d like to see disappear forever is the overfilling of lips. This extreme approach often detracts from the natural beauty and harmony of facial features. I believe in enhancing one’s appearance in a way that maintains balance and subtlety, ensuring results look natural and complement the individual’s unique facial structure. Encouraging a more natural, less is more approach to aesthetic treatments is something I strongly advocate for.
What can your patients expect from you?
Patients coming to me can expect to be welcomed into a calming and soothing atmosphere, which is crucial for a positive and comfortable experience. I always ensure to provide a listening ear, understanding that each individual’s needs and concerns are unique and require attentive care. My aim is for every patient to walk away feeling good about themselves, with their expectations met and their confidence enhanced.
What is your main goal for the next year?
My main goal for the next year is to successfully finish my degree, and I’m determined to do so without losing a single strand of my hair! It’s a bit like trying to keep a cool head in a heated quiz show – challenging but definitely doable. So, here’s to a year of learning, laughing, and most importantly, keeping my hair firmly where it belongs – on my head!
