I’ve had such a great experience at Stephanie’s clinic. My initial appointment was a consultation for the Profhilo treatment I had been looking into. Stephanie gave an honest and realistic expectation of what could be achieved with this treatment, which I really appreciated. I have now had my first treatment of Profhilo. I’m looking forward to seeing the results over the next few weeks/months. I would definitely consider other treatments in the future with Stephanie!

Frequently Asked Questions

Results from botox are not linear, you will see the most profound effects for the first 8 weeks, then the effects will gradually start to diminish over the following weeks.

Results vary from person to person but most clients return roughly every 4 months

Getting Botox is nothing to worry about and it’s our goal to keep our clients looking as natural as possible.

Before any treatment, we would get you in for a free consultation to review what you were after and to answer any questions that you may have.

It is best to leave 24 hours before heading to the pool or gym

Botox can take 2 weeks to fully settle in. If, at this time, you feel any area requires adjustment or topping up, then book in for a free review.

This is best carried out between 2-3 weeks after initial treatment.

By treating your frown lines without placing any Botox across your forehead then it will not affect your lids

Hooded eyes are not easy to treat, unfortunately.

Botox can help slightly but if they are very hooded then sometimes you are better spending your money on lid surgery instead.

The beauty of botox is that if you feel you don’t like it, it will wear off eventually without any long term effects and you’d not need to get it done again.

Botox may worsen your condition and you are better to wait until you are symptom free.

You should get your eyebrows done first before botox so that the tattooist can do them at their natural height and shape as botox can change this.

It can be difficult to improve smokers lines if you are adamant that you don’t want anything in your lips, as improving the volume here at least along the lip line will make a significant difference.

It also depends on how deep they are, as it can sometimes be a little botox that is required to soften them, or a combination with filler.

Ptosis is a medical condition characterised by drooping of the upper eyelid. This can happen when the Botulinum Toxin is injected too close to the levator muscle, which is responsible for lifting the eyelid. The ptosis is usually temporary and resolves within a few weeks after the injection.

This is why it is extremely important to have Wrinkle Relaxing Injections administered by a qualified and experienced healthcare professional who is familiar with the anatomy and function of the muscles in the face and eyes. The healthcare professional should also have knowledge of the recommended dosages and injection sites for the treatment of wrinkles around the eyes to minimise the risk of ptosis.

Over time, the ingredients in Botox break down into harmless chemicals called amino acids. The broken-down parts are either used to make other proteins or are thrown away by the kidneys. So, Botox either leaves your body completely or is turned into a safe form.

Stopping won’t hurt you in any way. There are no bad or harmful results. To put it simply, your muscles won’t be as loose. No matter how long you had Botox injections, you will still be able to move the area completely.

When the Botox wears off, the neurotransmitters cause the facial muscles to contract again, which causes the wrinkles to come back. As Botox slowly wears off, wrinkles like forehead lines, frown lines between the brows, and crow’s feet start to show up again.

But, and this is important, you might not look older than you did before. In fact, you might look younger.

Botox has a preventive effect, which means that in addition to treating wrinkles, it can also help stop them from appearing. When you use your facial muscles too much, you get dynamic wrinkles. Overusing the muscles that make you frown, laugh, etc. can cause wrinkles that get deeper and bigger over time. Because of this, they stay on your face even when you don’t smile or frown.

Botox injections, on the other hand, make the facial muscles weak for a short time. And, like all other muscles, the muscles get weaker and smaller when they aren’t used for a long time. So, if you get Botox injections regularly, the wrinkles that come with ageing will go away for good. Because of this, Botox injections can help you look younger for longer even if you don’t have wrinkles.

This is an increasingly relevant question, as more and more people are looking for ways to reduce the signs of ageing without resorting to medical procedures. Thankfully, there are a number of different treatments available that can help provide similar results.

One option is dermal fillers such as hyaluronic acid or collagen injections. These treatments work by filling in wrinkles and lines around the face, making them appear less noticeable. They typically last anywhere from six months to two years depending on the type used. The benefits include immediate results and minimal discomfort during application.

For those looking for something even more natural, botanical extracts like green tea and aloe vera have been shown to be effective at reducing inflammation and increasing skin elasticity. Additionally, many skin care products now contain ingredients such as retinol or peptides which can help encourage cell turnover and stimulate collagen production – both essential components of keeping skin healthy and youthful-looking over time. Most importantly, daily application of SPF is an absolute must!!!!

Ultimately, it’s important to consult with a doctor before deciding on any treatment plan; however, there are many safe and effective alternatives available for those wishing to reduce the appearance of fine lines or wrinkles without using medical interventions.

This is an important question to ask before committing to a treatment regimen. In general, Botox treatments are considered safe when administered by a qualified professional. However, as with any medical procedure, there are possible side effects and risks associated with Botox injections.

Longer term health concerns are incredibly rare but may include eyelid drooping if injected too close to the eye area, muscle weakness due to migration of the toxin away from its intended target area, skin infection at the injection site, difficulty speaking or swallowing after receiving injections near your throat muscles, and vision problems due to nerve damage caused by accidental injection into an artery supplying blood to your eyes.

If you experience any serious adverse effects after having Botox injections it is essential that you seek medical attention immediately.

Yes, both men and women looking for a non-surgical way to achieve a slimmer face or reduce tension from teeth grinding can consider masseter Botox. The jaw slimming effects will be more dramatic in someone who starts with a bulky muscle.  However, an expert consultation is crucial to ensure suitability.

Post-treatment, you might notice your jawline beginning to appear softer and more contoured over time. The full effect typically emerges after two to four weeks, with results lasting up to 6 months.

Profhilo® wouldn’t replace botox as it doesn’t stop muscle contraction which is what causes the wrinkles in those areas, it is more for skin rehydration, giving some plumping and tightening effect to the cheeks and mid face.

Profhilo® is recommended for adults who feel their skin has begun to sag, lose overall volume and fullness. Profhilo® can be used on the face, neck, décolletage, hands, arms and body to refresh and rejuvenate skin.

Profhilo® is NOT suitable for those who are wanting to replace lost volume in specific parts of their face, or those who want to alter the shape of their face or features. Additionally, it is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Profhilo® can be used with caution in those with blood disorders or those who are immunocompromised.

Those with active skin infections are also advised to wait until infections have cleared.

Obviously, Profhilo® is not suitable for those with a hyaluronic acid allergy.

The procedure is usually very well tolerated with a small amount of discomfort. After your treatment, you may experience minor bruising and swelling at the injections for site for about 24 hours. Mild discomfort is common and this can be managed and we provide guidance and support throughout your treatment journey.

Your skin will look better hydrated almost immediately after treatment. You won’t see the collagen elastin’s benefit until at least six weeks after your first treatment.

The best results will appear 4-6 weeks after your second treatment.

Profhilo® has been in use worldwide since February 2015. Over 300,000 patients have been treated so far, with no adverse reactions reported. Side effects (e.g., redness, pain, swelling) are mild and temporary.

Profhilo® it is made from ultra-pure, natural hyaluronic acid and stabilised without chemical cross-linking agents; this reduces the risk of adverse reactions, so the downtime is minimal.

Profhilo® is a rejuvenating treatment that can smooth fine lines, wrinkles, skin crepeiness and improve skin texture in the following areas:

  • Face
  • Neck
  • Decolletage
  • Arms (bingo-wings)
  • Elbows
  • Hands
  • Knees
  • Smokers lines and fine lines around the mouth
  • Under-eye wrinkles
  • Fine lines around the eyes
  • Wrinkly cheeks
  • Crepey hands
  • Abdomen (stomach)
  • No makeup for 6 hours after treatment
  • Refrain from any facials for two weeks
  • No heavy exercise for 24 hours after treatment
  • Be gentle when washing the filled area of your face, neck, chest, or hands
  • Try to avoid unnecessary touching of your face for the first 24 hours after treatment

Profhilo® is not the same as a dermal filler.

Although both contain hyaluronic acid, Profhilo® does not have the same thick viscosity as a dermal filler. In contrast, Profhilo® is a water-like gel with a similar constancy to honey and is injected in small amounts across the face. It spreads beneath your skin, stimulating collagen and elastin to improve skin tone, texture, and elasticity. The result is an overall more youthful, hydrated, glowing complexion.

Profhilo® will enhance an entire area rather than fill one specific line or fold like a dermal filler. Profhilo® can flow freely through the deep skin layers in a way that dermal fillers cannot, and it won’t produce lumps and bumps. Profhilo® is an excellent product for areas like the neck, hands, or arms where fillers are generally not used.

While it’s true that this treatment doesn’t directly target face wrinkles like some other options, it can still contribute to a smoother complexion by boosting your skin’s hydration and elasticity. Profhilo works by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin in your skin, resulting in a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance.

Here are three key points to remember about how Profhilo affects wrinkles:

  • While not specifically designed for wrinkle reduction, its effects on skin hydration and elasticity indirectly help minimise their appearance.
  • It promotes collagen production, which is crucial for maintaining skin’s firmness, thus helping prevent future wrinkle formation.
  • The increased hydration provides an instant plumping effect that makes your skin appear smoother.

Injectable treatments such as Botox or Profhilo are generally considered safe when administered by a trained professional. These treatments have been extensively researched and used worldwide for several years now. However, it’s critical to remember that everyone’s body is unique and may respond differently to these procedures.

Yes, Profhilo can be used on all skin types. However, it’s crucial you discuss your skin condition with a professional to determine the best treatment for your specific needs.
